LuAnn Thoma-Holec, ASID
Principal

McDowell Village ModelAs principal, LuAnn is responsible for the implementation of the design criteria and project management of all senior living and specialized care communities. LuAnn formed Thoma-Holec Design LLC in 2006 after completing a successful partnership with MGA Interiors, LLC.

A passion for senior living interior design inspired LuAnn to launch a new company exclusively focused on it. Her 30 years of design experience in new home marketing centers, model merchandising, private residential, and hospitality support her ability to create home-like senior living and specialized care communities that are highly marketable, in-budget, and comply with the social model for senior living and care.

LuAnn is credited with the prestigious Designer of Distinction, five silver awards from the National Council of Senior Housing and numerous ASID Awards of Excellence in senior care, hospitality and model merchandising.

She is a past (six year) Board Member of the Arizona Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), a past National Director-at-Large of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), a past ASID National Ethics Chairman, and past President of the ASID Arizona North Chapter.

LuAnn is a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the Assisted Living Federation of America, American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) and the 50+ Housing Council.

LuAnn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design and Museum Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from Arizona State University. She is National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certified. LuAnn is a Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing (CAASH) and she is a Licensed Interior Designer in the state of Nevada and a Certified Interior Designer in the state of California.

Timothy
Project Designer

Tim is responsible for the concept designs of specific projects requiring illustration, space planning, millwork design drafting, material selection and computer modeling. Tim primarily focuses on space planning, architectural detailing and millwork design.

Prior to joining Thoma-Holec Design, Tim held a position encompassing the same responsibilities at Multi Graphic Arts, Inc. and Habitat, Inc. Previously, Tim worked 11 years in the hospitality industry at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in American History from Northern Arizona University.

Bonnie
Allied Member ASID, Assoc. Member IIDA
Interior Designer & Business Development Manager

Bonnie is responsible for growing our core business, identifying new market opportunities and developing business, and interior design project work. Her unique background of marketing, sales, business development and interior design enable her to blend these skill sets.

Prior to joining Thoma-Holec Design in 2011, Bonnie was an Interior Designer for Scottsdale-based Brix Home. For five years prior, she developed and operated Enhanced to Sell, LLC, an award-winning vacant home staging company.

Previously, Bonnie was Marketing Communications Manager for several Fortune 500 companies, including Rockwell Automation and ITT Industries, and start-up companies where her contributions led to business development and revenue growth. She developed and executed successful strategic and tactical marketing plans and managed corporate identity and branding, advertising, sales promotion, direct marketing, new product launches, web sites, trade shows, sales and technical collateral, and public relations for business-to-business and business-to-consumer organizations in a variety of industries.

Bonnie has been active as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity/ASID doing “green product” research and site builds.

Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing Communications from DePaul University in Chicago, and an Associate Degree in Interior Design from Scottsdale Community College.

Stacey
Allied Member ASID, Interior Designer

Stacey’s responsibilities include all facets of the interior design process including specification of finishes and furnishings, procurement, project management, and installation. Stacey finds senior living interior design work very rewarding with the quality of life improvements that she and the firm bring residents through designs that increase interaction, socialization and are aesthetically pleasing.

Prior to joining Thoma-Holec Design in 2006, Stacey worked as an Interior Designer for MGA Interiors LLC in the model home merchandising industry.

Stacey holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Phoenix and she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Jill
Interior Designer

Jill is responsible for all facets of the design process including specification of finishes and furnishings, procurement, specification implementation and project installation.

Jill joined Thoma-Holec in 2007 as Interior Design Intern. She was soon promoted to Design Assistant and then to Interior Designer in 2011. Prior to joining Thoma-Holec Design, Jill was a Human Resource Professional for the May Company and a large, local Jiffy Lube franchise. Previously, Jill was a Pharmacy Technician.

During her six years as a pharmacy tech working with senior care communities, Jill recognized that she had a desire to enhance and enrich the lives of seniors through interior design. Jill has been active as a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul/NEWH, Keep America Beautiful - Papago Park/Girl Scouts of America, and Habitat for Humanity.

Jill holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Phoenix. She is a candidate for LEED GA.

Carol
Bookkeeper

Carol is responsible for all internal accounts payable and receivables. With over 15 years experience performing accounting and bookkeeping functions for interior design firms, Carol is responsible for all internal accounts payable, receivables, and procurement tracking. Prior to joining Thoma-Holec Design she was employed at MGA Interiors and Habitat, Inc. in the accounts payable department

Gary
Consultant Project Designer

Gary is responsible for individual project design from conceptual design through design development, including space planning, furniture layout, millwork design, and materials selection for projects requiring both standard and barrier-free/ADA accessibility applications.

Prior to joining the Thoma-Holec Design team, Gary’s 20 years of design experience combines both architecture and interior design within the hospitality, residential, commercial and entertainment venues. While initially working as a multi-disciplined architect, Gary’s true passion turned toward interior architecture/design. He continues to create designs that marry both architecture and interior design in a manner that has won accolades and respect from his peers. Gary’s design focus is on advocating urban renewal, sustainable “green” design, barrier-free/accessibility design, as well as other progressive design applications that are pertinent in the modern design climate.

Gary holds multiple certifications, including National Council for Interior Design (NCIDQ) and is degreed in both architecture and interior design.

Steven
Consultant

Steven’s responsibilities, on an as needed basis, include consulting, AutoCAD preliminary design and construction documents. As an industrial designer with a background in the exhibit design field and museum interpretive design, Steven has expertise in project management, signage design, millwork fabrication, and graphic design.

Steven is a licensed local pastor of the United Methodist Church specializing in pastoral care. His spiritual guidance and understanding of the frailty of the senior population assists him in his ability to assist the design department in creating interiors that function for all senior impairments.

Mike
Installation Team Lead

An efficient and organized installation is one of the keys to Thoma-Holec Design’s success. Mike is responsible for the furniture, artwork and accessory installation teams and is onsite at each installation. His personal involvement with the placement of furnishings and artwork enables the install to complete in a timely manner with quality control foremost on his agenda.

Prior to joining Thoma-Holec Design, Mike was part of the management team at Lynch Furniture Handlers. Mike is a veteran of Desert Storm.

Architectural Support Haus

Architectural Support Haus provides meticulous construction documents, is capable of surveying as-built conditions, may provide project management upon request, and can develop color renderings. We currently work with AutoCAD 2010 as well as Adobe CS4.

C.W. Barsness CPA

C.W. Barsness is the Certified Public Accounting firm responsible for all accounting functions, payroll, tax, and administrative functions of Thoma-Holec Design LLC.
