Interior Designer

About the Role
Thoma-Holec Design is looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join our nationally recognized, award-winning team. We specialize in creating comfortable, functional, and innovative senior living environments, with projects located throughout the country.
This is a hands-on role for a designer who enjoys being involved throughout the design process—from early concepts and documentation to FF&E selections, client presentations, and installation. Our ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and excited to work in a collaborative, fast-paced studio environment.
Experience in senior living, multifamily, hospitality, healthcare, or residential design is preferred, along with a willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and FF&E installations.
What You’ll Do
As an Interior Designer, you’ll collaborate with our design team, clients, architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors to help bring projects from concept through completion. Responsibilities include:
Participate in all phases of design, from concept development through FF&E installation
Coordinate construction drawings and design documentation
Select, specify, and coordinate FF&E, finishes, materials, lighting, and accessories
Assist with space planning, design development, and project presentations
Participate in client meetings, site visits, and project installations
Support construction administration, including design revisions and project documentation
Help maintain project schedules, deliverables, and design standards across multiple projects
Research products, materials, and design solutions appropriate for senior living environments
Support the materials library and maintain vendor and product resources
Travel as needed for project meetings, site visits, and large-scale FF&E installations
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited program
Approximately 1–7 years of professional interior design experience
Experience selecting, specifying, and coordinating FF&E, finishes, and materials
Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and technical design documentation
Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit, with exposure to SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, vendors, and fellow designers
Experience in senior living, healthcare, multifamily, hospitality, or residential design is preferred
Interest in aging, gerontology, wellness, and evidence-based design is a plus
NCIDQ certification or progress toward certification is a plus
Ability and willingness to travel as project needs require
